A crush above the rest

Date: Category: Peter Bennie News

Peter Bennie have invested in a new McCloskey J50H crusher at Wroxton Quarry. The new crusher is significantly larger than its predecessor, weighing approximately 65 tonnes and is better suited to support growing demand.

McCloskey is an emerging market leader, supplying crushers, vibrating screens, trommel screeners, stacking conveyors and waste recycling plant to a range of industries. The new crusher was built at McCloskey’s production facility in Canada, before being shipped to Northern Ireland and finished in their workshop. Finishing off it’s 3450 mile trip by being transported by ferry and then low loader to reach Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Working closely with leading crusher manufacturers, Peter Bennie tested a number of leading crusher alternatives over several months, before selecting the McCloskey.

McCloskey provided a smooth transition and testing period for the McCloskey J50H and oversaw several specifications to better assist the high-end production that Peter Bennie require. These specifications included:

• Bigger pre-screen and larger jaw box for improved throughput of volume
• Belt scales for weight measurement
• Lower site conveyor angle
• Refuelling platform

The significant investment of over one third of a million pounds will enhance the production rate of clean ironstone and shows the businesses commitment to continued investment in line with The Bennie Group Values. The crusher also reduces levels of waste by 5-10%, providing an environmentally friendlier and efficient production process.
