Peter Bennie have been operating a large fleet of tippers throughout the Midlands for a great many years. The familiar “Bennie” yellow colour makes them instantly recognisable. Currently all the tippers are supplied by Scania and are fitted out with all the usual equipment which make them suitable for off-road and site work. We also operate a number or tippers in the livery of our sister company Barton Plant.
The lorries are fitted with flashing safety beacons, high conspicuity marker boards and rear low level strobes. This so that cars travelling close behind our lorries are able to see when the lorry is about to slow down and turn into a site. This is especially important on highway construction work.
All the trucks are fitted with tracking devices and satelite navigation. Not only does this ensure maximum productivity from our drivers it helps us to manage their compliance with the law. It also enables us to reprogramme their days work during the course of the day according to the latest traffic information and customers changing requirements. We are also able to give customers up to the minute information on orders when required.

At any time during the day we can see where all our lorries are, their current speed and direction of travel. The system also shows where there are traffic delays and will offer the driver a better alternative if there is one. If the driver deviates from the best route or chooses not to accept a better route then the transport team will be advised.
